I finally got to do this – Day 10

I try to be creative with things to do alone in a half furnished flat… And I don’t want to focus on the negative or all the scary things with the situation we’re in. So here we go, a post about the things I finally got around to do in my flat now when I have time. More than enough time…

Happy plants!

1. I started off like everyone else: By cleaning. Amazing how many rabbits you see when you’re home, midday and the sun is up…

2. Clothes, I have too many and never anything to wear. I had to do something before the situation got out of hand. So I did. Now I have too many and nothing to wear, but at least it’s all organised and I know where to look for them all!

3. I finally got around to put the bedroom curtains up properly. Amazing what some velcro can do! Do you like it?

4. I must admit, I’m not very good at using recyclable bags for food shopping. I used to be amazing at it in London, but ever since coming home to Norway I’ve lost that habit. So I end up with a mess of plastic bags in my kitchen drawer. Well not anymore! All folded to small triangles. Taking up less space, giving me peace at heart.

5. Ok, so question for you. How often do you clean your green plants? I’m not talking about dusting them, but proper clean each leaf? Do people do this? Anyways, I did. 5 years till next time!

…it was about time

6. Talking about plants. Yesterday I took all my plants on a little day trip to the windowsill to get some sunshine! They love me for it and in return they grow strong and stay green.

8. I put a label on it! I’m a little less than 2m tall. (Just about)…. Being 1.63m, having 2m wardrobes it leaves me with no control of what ends up on top of the wardrobe. Well, until today! All baskets got labels on them. Labels I can reach without standing on my tiptoes, making my life easier.

9. This week I also got to tidy my nail polish box. Throwing away the old colours and seeing which colours I had doubled. You know I have a thing for nail polish, and I always do my own nails, so I think I deserve a good selection of colours. Don’t you?

10. Time to make playlists! Since I don’t have a TV and I live alone, it can get too quiet in my apartment sometimes. The solution is of course music. (Always!) But I’ve now got to the point where I’m tired of all my regular playlists and I’m in desperate need of new music. So there you go, today’s project: Creating playlists for myself.

I realise this is not the most exciting blogpost you’ve ever read, but this is how my days are these days… And I did keep you occupied for some time there, didn’t I?! Hehe… So, what do you do at home these days? I could need some new ideas for next week…. Let me know, comment below!

“All the feels”

Right, today was day 6 of my “stay at home-don’t be with people-pretend you’re on a holiday at home-quarantin” … You might have seen yesterday’s post on Instagram?

And I’m hoping I’m not the only one with mood swings these days? Well, some people may say this is normal being me, but just ignore them. (Ha ha)

Yesterday was a strange day emotionally and I think the whole situation hit me a little extra for some reason. It even hit me so hard I dreamt of it last night. I dreamt I was going back to work after a long time in quarantine. I was happy and ready to work, when someone entered the building telling me this wasn’t my job anymore. The building was sold and would be made into a gym/ travel agency….

I sure hope that ain’t true by the time I come back to work. But it tells me how much I miss going to the gym, how much I miss moving from a-b and how much I miss work. Sure hope this world will go back to normal soon…

How are you doing? How do you fill your days? I’m especially thinking of you who are living alone and in a quarantine… Cos wow… Turns out you can have too much “me-time”!


Netflix – Must see

Yesterday I asked for Netflix recommendations on Instagram, and you guys were amazing! Lots of good suggestions. So many, I thought I would share them on my blog, in case you also need Netflix- inspo.

So… Let’s start with the shows you recommended, which I have already seen, but I agree with the recommendations: The Crown, YOU, Black Mirror, Vampire Diaries, Messiah, Stranger Things & Love is Blind. -All good TV shows, very different kind of shows, but all worth seeing, depending on your mood.

Yesterday I ended up watching: The Stranger, after recommendation from Lauren (fit_as_schlitt). The Stranger is a British mystery thriller. Safe choice for someone like me, loving more or less everything British and a big fan of thrillers. Great show, 8 episodes, and I saw them all in one day…

The Stranger – Netflix original

Today I will watch: On my Block and/or Dark. Maybe I start them both? Not being able to go outside or having friends over, my life is more or less: food, books and Netflix these days… (Don’t judge!)

Other recommendations from yesterday, which I haven’t had time to see yet, but definitely will check out, is: Quarter life crisis, The Witcher, Altered carbon, Dead to me & Mindhunters.

If you’re in scandinavia reading this, or you can watch scandinavian series with subtitles, I’d like to recommend the Norwegian/Swedish/Danish drama thriller: Svartsjøen (The Blacklake). 8 episodes you’ll end up watching in one go! I promise you!

I love all your recommendations, and I’m so so happy no one recommended movies/ shows with Jim Carrey or Rowan Atkinson in them. That would not go well with me… Sorry, not a big fan of either…

Goal: Check!

It’s been a goal of mine to try CrossFit. But I’ve never dared to try, because I imagined you’d have to be FIT to do CrossFit.

I’m not fit, but I’ve been working out for a period of time. So I asked myself what I was waiting for, and just went for it! I’m not gonna lie. I was nervous! Expected the worst…


The exercises weren’t difficult. They were just killing! I’m not lying when I say the instructor had planned for us to do 360 burpees!! Let me repeat: 360 burpees!! I could not even do half of them. And I hate burpees. Always have done and I don’t imagine that to change any time soon…

But I love the fact that I tried something I was nervous about and I stepped out of my comfort zone (and survived it). Don’t you just love the feeling of achieving a goal, doing something you didn’t think you could do? It’s not about proving anything to anyone. Except from yourself! To show yourself what you can do.

I think we should all encourage each other to step out of our comfort zone more often. I strongly believe that’s how we develop the most. And it feels so good after! Believe me. I just did it!

Do you know what I’m talking about or am I just talking away here? I want to hear what you’ve done, big or small, which you originally didn’t think you could do, but you did anyways!

Wall by wall I cover it all

I can finally say I’m done painting my home. The last and final room became green today, and I’m super excited about the colour!

Living room

My original plan was a darker green. But I changed my mind, to allow for darker interior. And to avoid the walls taking all light away from the room.

“Lady kalkmaling”

This was my first time painting with charcoal paint. And I think it turned out pretty good…! It was important for me to create texture in the room so I chose short strokes with a wide paint brush, in every angle. Funny how the colour look SO dark when wet, but turns a lot brighter when dry. The wet paint on the left side of this picture is pretty close to the colour I originally had planned. But now when I’m done, I’m happy I chose the colour I did.

Another great thing with this paint and my plain boring white walls, is that I only needed one coat to cover it all! Amazing for someone like me who has no patience at all…

I’m very happy with the result. Only minus now is the wait for my sofa… Still one more month to go… I feel like a child waiting for Christmas!

Until then I’ll just sit here, enjoy my coffee and adore my new green walls. Happy Sunday!

UK + Sadness = Gym

I can tell I’m getting closer to my “1 year living in Norway anniversary” by the sadness I feel. I miss London like crazy, and missing my heart even more!

It’s hard to explain, cos I still think my decision of moving back was the right one. And life in Norway is so much better than life in London. But I still feel like I left a huge part of me, in the UK. Hence my sadness…

Like most things, I know this sadness will pass. And being sad is really just a waist of time. But while feeling down I’m super happy I have my gym to go to!

If I didn’t have gym as my distraction I would probably be home feeling sorry for myself, right now! (Let’s be real) Gym is the best distraction, the best mood booster out there. Do you know what I’m talking about? Of course you do!

…and if you don’t: Next time you’re feeling down, go for a walk. Run, swim, go to the gym. Any activity will make your body happy and mind distracted! It works! With a 100% guarantee

This is the sweetest book. So simple, so right. Motivational and emotional. Perfect present, perfect reading, one page a day. I love it!

Of course also loving the illustrations.

I had never heard of this book until Antonia told me I had to buy it. She knows me, this book is perfect for me and also I’m so bad at online shopping, she knew she would easily buy it and send it to me before I would get myself together and buy something (anything) online!

So here it is, my new favourite book. My daily motivational if you’d like. I read one page every day. Just because it’s cute! This is real life cutenesses, love and friendship, touching on difficult feelings through life. The combination is probably why I like it so much.
